Description
Travel is an activity-rich in learning opportunities. Being able to recognise the learning that is naturally occurring and see opportunities to enhance this learning will help you and your children to get the most out of your travel journeys.
Remember that it is not essential to “do learning tasks” while traveling. Simply spending time with others, having fun, enjoying activities, trying new things, and being involved in all aspects of travel will result in learning taking place whether you want it to or not.
If however, you wish to know what learning may be occurring during travel activities, or you are looking for opportunities to focus further on particular learning areas during your trip then this is the guide for you.
This guide highlights learning opportunities connected to travel from each of the below learning areas of the New Zealand curriculum.
- Literacy
- Maths
- Social Science
- The Arts
- Learning Languages
- Science
- Technology
